Come out and join us for a worthy cause on Thursday, March 2nd at the 11th Annual Empty Bowls event. This fundraiser supports the Urban Ministries of Durham, to raise funds for combating hunger and homelessness in our community.
This year we will be preparing a traditional English soup with origins in Indian cuisine, called ‘mulligatawny.’ While there are many interpretations of this classic soup, ours will feature red lentils, chicken, apple, peppers and chickpeas.
At the event, guests will have the chance to sample soups prepared by more than a dozen local chefs and vote for your favorites. Local artists and artisans are making hundreds of hand-crafted bowls, and you can choose a ticket that allows you to select one to take home.
Empty Bowls takes place at the Durham Convention Center, March 2nd, 5:30-7:30pm. Tickets and info here
