Join us for a Mushroom & Foraging Wine Dinner October 17th

Please join us as we celebrate Fall with our 7th annual Mushroom & Foraging Wine Dinner.

Thomas Meunier, wine importer of Authentique Vin, will be our host as we explore six wines he selected for this special evening. Meunier’s six years as assistant to winemaker Frederic Mabileau in Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil gave him an appreciation and deep respect for wines made by farmers as an expression of place. His portfolio reflects that respect with its focus on estates who farm organic or biodynamic.

Executive Chef Dave Alworth and Sous Chef Justin Pfau have created a menu around these wines, highlighting the bounty of Autumn with mushrooms, game, foraged berries and other earthy, woodland delights.

Come join us for a Biergarten experience at Guglhupf!

With our new bar as the focal point connecting the patio with the indoor dining area, we are shifting our focus to a more casual ‘Biergarten’ style of dining at Guglhupf during evening hours. Read more about it in this N&O article.

The beverage menu features 12 taps, our signature craft cocktails, and an expanded selection of scotch, whiskey and locally distilled spirits. Our wine list continues its exploration of Germany and Austria, rounded out with remarkable small-producers from around the globe.

Our expanded dinner menu includes Brotzeit (lit. trans. “Bread time”), which is a traditional German evening dining style emphasizing breads, charcuterie, cheeses, smoked and marinated fish, and savory spreads. Brotzeit will be available from 3pm on, and flow into the dinner menu.

Overall, you’ll find even more options to mix and match … a plethora of tasting plates perfect for sharing, our popular classics, and delectable desserts… all perfectly suited for enjoying the outdoor patio biergarten-style, or dining at a cozy table inside.

Summertime means Beer Dinner time!

Join us along with Raleigh’s super popular Trophy Brewery on Wednesday July 25th for our annual ‘The Butcher, The Baker, and the Beer Maker‘ Beer Dinner.

Trophy’s Chris Mincey will be on hand to guide you through the refreshing and diverse offering of six beers, creatively paired with five courses  centered around whole hog butchery.

This is going to be a fun evening of purposeful overindulging- get your snout on!

Graduation Weekend 2018

It’s Graduation weekend May 11-13th! We’ll be featuring a special  Graduation Dinner menu on Friday and Saturday night. We still have seating available on Friday evening. We’ve just been named a 2018 Diners Choice restaurant, so come celebrate your graduate with the best!

It’s all about strawberries for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day coincides with the peak of the strawberry season in North Carolina, and we are preparing some fresh and fabulous Mother’s Day specials. In the Bakery we’ll have NC strawberry tarts, coconut cheesecake with lemon curd, lemon meringue tarts, petit fours and more!

We will also have some fabulous specials in the Cafe for Mother’s Day Brunch, such as strawberry crepes, asparagus & crab eggs benedict, accompanied by some fun drinks.

Triangle Restaurant Week is coming!

Things are heating up! It’s almost time for Triangle Restaurant Week — a celebration of the amazing culinary scene in the Triangle.

Here come the Holidays…it’s Stollen time!

Tis the season! The elves are hard at work preparing our Weihnacht’s Stollen. This hand-crafted creation is THE traditional German treat filled with delicious fruits, nuts and spices, and covered with powdered sugar.
