The cellar technology at the production location in Jois, completed in 2004, ranks among the most modern in Austria.

October 12th at 7 pm we will be hosting Michael Hoeffken, the Winemaker, Sommelier and right hand man to Leo Hillinger Winery in Austria.  Michael and his unbeatable Austrian sense of humor will guide us through an exciting evening of Hillinger wines and a five course menu.

German and Vegan Wine Dinner?

We know this may make you confused or possibly worried… but you’ve got to trust us on this one…it’s going to be awesome! Let’s start with the wines. This will actually be our first, truly German wine dinner. We’ve had to share with Austria before, because the Germans tend to consume most of their regional ‘jewels’ themselves, usually within a 50km radius of the vineyard.WinesofGermany

And vegan… did you know we won the Bull City Vegan Challenge, and it was eye-opening on a number of levels. There’s tremendous interest and demand for vegan options. It’s really fun and adventurous to create flavorful, bold vegan dishes that surprise even the most seasoned diner that they are 100% plant based.

We Won the Bull City Vegan Challenge – Best Overall Vegan Dish

Thanks to everyone who came out to try our vegan Königsberger Klopse — tempeh meatballs with macadamia cream, capers and faux anchovies, served with a side of roasted potatoes topped with wood sorrel pesto — during the Bull City Vegan Challenge. Even though the challenge is over, we will have this winning entree on our menu for the month of May. Given the positive feedback we received from you on this challenge, we are working to develop new vegan dishes for all of our menus throughout the day.
