Guglhupf Donation Guidelines

Guglhupf Bakery, Café & Restaurant takes pride in our efforts to support the community in which we live through assisting numerous 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations and through our sponsorship of several local community events.

The following information is provided to assist you in requesting a donation. Requests that adhere to the guidelines will receive equal consideration, and we will respond only to those requests that we are able to support.

Eligible Organizations / Causes

• A nonprofit charitable corporation that has been granted tax-exempt status under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and;
• Preference will be given to organizations within Durham county, and;
• Emphasis on causes that support children, women, at risk populations, or;
• Other causes may be considered that show a compelling connection to Guglhupf on case-by-case basis, such as sustainability, healthy eating, local food systems.

Ineligible Organizations

• Organizations without an Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt status
• Individuals
• Political campaigns, political or lobbying organizations, or those supporting the candidacy of a particular individual
• Churches or religious organizations, including seminaries, Bible colleges and theological institutions
• Fraternal organizations
• Labor organizations

Application For Consideration

• All requests must be submitted at least 6-8 weeks prior to your event.
• Proof of 501(c)(3) non-profit status
• List of Guglhupf employees who currently volunteer for your organization
• List of sponsorship benefits, i.e. presence of ad, logo, or banner, tickets
• Only one donation request may be made per year, per organization. Past support does not guarantee future support, as we like to support as many organizations in our local community as we can.

You will be contacted only if we are able to support your request. Due to the high volume of requests we receive, we ask that you please do not contact us to check on the status of your request. We are a small business and give careful consideration to each request, but we are unable to support or reply to all requests.

We make donations in the form of gift certificates, or baked goods, and cannot provide cash donations.
